So this is what a third pregnancy is like. I am 12 weeks along and already look like my previous pregnancies at 6 months (thanks to a tummy pooch that was apparently just waiting to pop out as soon as my pregnancy test showed positive).
A nice little layer of fat on top of everything helps accentuate the bigness that is me.
It’s ok though. I will worry about all that later -- you know when this last and final pregnancy is over -- (And I do mean LAST and FINAL! )-- and I start to feel like a human again. Probably when this baby is around 2 years old.
I don’t have a midwife yet, and I am surprisingly unconcerned about that. With Boddhi I had already interviewed 3, found Dinah (the one) and had my first appointment by 6 weeks. I laugh at myself now. bwahhhaha.
I am in no rush to face all the small tasks that await me. I may be in a little bit of denial -- but I am ok with that as well.
I have decided that spring is not the ideal time to have your first trimester (at least not for me). Thanks to my seasonal allergy / sinus hell, I am not feeling any less nauseous. The excess saliva that pregnancy causes + extra sinus sensitivity = stomach discomfort pretty much all the time (unless I am eating -- then I feel better for about 5 minutes).
I have just stopped expecting to feel better any time soon. It could be worse.
Dude and Mike have helped out so much these last few weeks. Dude actually washed dishes last night (by hand!). I am shocked and grateful (it has been a whole semester since he has actually washed dishes -- but he does do all the laundry, so I cannot really complain).
They also painted our dining room yellow (to cheer me up), and I love it.
Weeks are passing, and I am getting more done. I cleaned out some cabinets that still had crumbs from previous owners, have been cooking regularly, and Boddhi and I have done at least 2 Boddhi-centered activities per week (park, zoo, playdate).
I am bored with my own writing now, so I will wrap this up. I will try to talk about something more interesting than pregnancy saliva next time.
All the best.
